Cellule Nigérienne des Jeunes Filles Leaders (CNJFL)

Across Niger, young women and girls were often left out of talks—specifically on the Sustainable Development Goals—even though they are the most affected by early marriage, violence, extremism, and a lack of formal education. Now CNJFL, a 100 percent girl-led group, is ensuring that more young women and girls are speaking up and demanding that their voices are heard. With workshops on public speaking, social media, artistic expression, and entrepreneurship, CNJFL strengthens connections and shared capacity among young woman and girl advocates, growing a feminist movement from the ground up. CNJFL also lives its values internally, building innovative governance and accountability practices that ensure that all members of its organization, from board members to employees, participate in decision-making processes.
