Young Mbororo Indigenous women in Cameroon face deep-seated violence and discrimination, including early and forced marriage and the denial of education and rights. FFAC is a self-led group of Mbororo women who have come together to demand and build a better future—where all Indigenous women and girls are free from violence and discrimination and can contribute to the sustainable development of their community and nation. In pursuit of this vision, FFAC provides psychosocial support, vocational training, and temporary housing to girls fleeing early and forced marriages and girls experiencing displacement due to conflict. It also acts as a strong advocate for girls’ access to education and sexual and reproductive and health and rights, and provides training and networking opportunities so that Indigenous girls, adolescents, and women gain the confidence to demand equality across the public and private spheres.
