Women’s Voice and Leadership - Caribbean (WVL-Caribbean) is a five-year initiative, supported by the Government of Canada, to advance women’s rights and gender equality in Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligible countries in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The project supports the capacity and leadership of grassroots women’s rights organizations (WROs) and lesbian, bisexual, trans, intersex, and queer (LBTIQ) groups to advance their own agendas and solutions to improve women’s rights and gender equality in the Caribbean. The initiative is co-implemented by the Equality Fund and the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice (Astraea).
The Equality Fund, in coordination with Astraea, is seeking either a consulting team or an individual consultant to explore the feasibility of a Caribbean activist-led fund to support WROs and LBTIQ groups in the region over the longer-term. The consulting team or individual consultant will be responsible for conducting this feasibility assessment in the wider Caribbean region—through both primary and secondary research—and providing recommendations on key aspects such as:
- Sources of Funding
- Structure, Management, and Governance; Mandate and Location
- Financial Requirements
Interested candidates should submit their resume (including all team members), cover letter, and proposal to hello@equalityfund.ca along with the reference number WVL-2021-01 by February 22, 2021.
