Carol is the Equality Fund’s Chief Financial Officer, a position she has held since July 2020. She brings over 38 years of experience as a professional accountant, having served most recently as a partner with PwC. Carol has also built extensive experience as a volunteer on nonprofit boards, where she often chairs audit committees. She currently volunteers on the boards of the Ottawa Community Foundation and the International Women’s Forum (IWF) – Canada Board, and obtained her ICD.D in 2017.

Over the course of her career, Carol has been involved in a variety of audit and financial consulting engagements, including initial public offerings, business valuations, IFRS conversions, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), and risk management. Her range of experience includes providing services to organizations in the investment management, pensions, manufacturing, retail, telecommunication, government, real estate, and high technology sectors of the economy. She was the PwC Ottawa Office Managing partner from July 2012 to August 2018.

Carol spent her formative years growing up in Alberta, graduated with a bachelor of commerce (Honours) degree from Queen’s University in 1982, qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1985, a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) in 1994, and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the US in 2000. She was named a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA, now FCPA) in 2009. In 2014, the Women’s Executive Network (WXN) named Carol one of Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women.
