Vidya is the Manager of Development on the Equality Fund’s philanthropy team. In this role, she builds and maintains strong relationships with our donors and raises vital institutional funds to sustain the Equality Fund’s work with our grantee partners. Vidya is an advocate for transformative philanthropy practices that elevate marginalized voices, strengthen solidarity, drive new funding for social movements, and build lasting power among women, girls, and non-binary people.

Prior to joining the Equality Fund, Vidya worked at the intersection of gender, water, health, and human rights. With over nine years of experience in the development space, Vidya has built vocational education training programs for tribal women in India, advocated for small-island developing states in Kiribati, and secured primary health care access for refugees and asylum seekers in Malaysia.

Originally from Kuala Lumpur, Vidya is now based in Toronto. She holds a master’s degree in international development practice from the University of Waterloo and a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Ottawa.

Vidya is passionate about food and learning. When not at the office, you can find her running trails, cooking, or hopping on a plane in search of views that take her breath away.
