Women’s Voice and Leadership–Caribbean
Purpose meets power
When institutions we didn’t build hold us back, or don’t work for us: We move.

Our voices. Our agendas.
With a wrap-around approach that includes multi-year funding, responsive funding, capacity building, and network and alliance building, the initiative supports organizations in Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligible countries in the Caribbean community: Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana , Jamaica, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Suriname.
WVL–Caribbean is supported by the Women’s Voice and Leadership (WVL) Program, launched in 2017 by the Government of Canada to provide women’s rights organizations and movements in 30 countries with direct funding to advance gender equality. These projects respond to the needs of women’s rights organizations and put women at the centre of decision-making.
Guided by feminists
WVL–Caribbean is supported by a Caribbean Advisory Group of seven outstanding feminist leaders. Across generations, perspectives, and countries, they bring passion and an expertise in advancing women’s rights, LGBTQI+ rights, and gender equality. The advisory group provides high-level support and advice on the main components of the project, from our grantmaking to our sustainability.
