Stichting Projekta is an organization founded in 1993, whose mandate is focused on increasing the participation of women in development processes and in decision-making. The organization addresses social issues, including the unequal distribution of power, unequal participation of women in politics, domestic violence, poor sexual and reproductive health care, poverty in female-headed households, and the lack of access to information and engagement by grassroots women’s organizations. It provides rights-based programs aimed at amplifying women’s voices in policymaking and creating spaces for dialogue. A significant component of Stichting Projekta’s work focuses on advocacy on women’s rights and strengthening the capacity of local grassroots women’s organizations.
